A Barrier Free Waterproof Tiled Shower for the Hospitality Industry

The Schluter-Systems exhibit in the Innovation Pavilion will demonstrate the assembly of a waterproof barrier free tiled shower area that is suitable for new construction or retrofit projects. The shower area is built using Schluter-KERDI-BOARD and the new Schluter-KERDI-LINE drain.

The Schluter-KERDI-LINE drain is an elegant low-profile alternative to traditional shower drains. This sleek and versatile linear drain is easy to install and offers an interesting array of design opportunities, including wheelchair-accessible showers.

The drain in the display will be installed at the shower threshold to demonstrate the solution that works best for hotels and inns converting bathrooms to meet ADA requirements. The floor can be sloped on a single plane to the drain, thereby enabling the use of large-format tiles and minimizing structural changes in retrofit situations.

Grate lengths range from 20" to 48" nominal and are available in three attractive designs:
1 - Brushed stainless steel with square perforations
2 - Brushed stainless steel closed design
3 - Frameless tileable – makes the drain area virtually disappear.

Installation of the line drain is made easier by using a new Schluter-KERDI-SHOWER sloped tray for the shower floor. The tray is pre-sloped toward the drain and comes with Schluter-KERDI waterproofing membrane already installed on the tray. The trays are available in two different sizes to suit different shower designs. They are also pre-marked to ease the job of centering and installing the drain.

The shower walls in the display will be built using the Schluter-KERDI-BOARD system. The boards serve as a substrate, building panel, and bonded waterproofing solution for tiled areas. The building panels are waterproof and vapor-retardant and can replace the current method of installing tile backerboard and then applying a complete waterproofing system over the entire shower area to prepare for tiling. This board system gives designers and tile installers more control over their tiling projects by providing them with the means to more quickly and easily create ideal substrates for tile. Since KERDI-BOARD is inherently waterproof, only seams and protrusions need to be addressed for a completely watertight assembly.

KERDI-BOARD can also be used as a building element to construct free-standing structures to support tile coverings, and for features in shower areas such as benches and niches.

Schluter-KERDI-BOARD is made of an extruded polystyrene foam core with reinforcement layers and fleece webbing on both sides for easy anchoring in thin-set mortar. KERDI-BOARD is exceptionally lightweight and easy to handle. It comes in seven thicknesses: 3/16", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/2", and 2" so there is a panel for almost any application.

Telescope Casual Furniture shows the Dune chaise in Starboard

Recludo

The unique function of our lock system is that it will allow the guest to go straight to their room without checking in at front desk. The guest will have a unique Authorization Code provided at the booking from the hotel. This code is only valid during the specific time peroid booked by the guest. For example it's only valid for the 2 nights the guest paid for.
Second this code is only valid at the specific rooom number advised by the hotel in the booking details.
The guest arrives at his room. Punch in the code, then enrolls his fingerprint into the lock. From that moment it's the guest fingerprint that will give access to the room. But just as long as the guest have booked. In other words, when the stay is completed and guest have to leave the hotel, the fingerprint will not open the door again.
